Make Your Own Everyday “GO TO” Soul Food Seasoning!

This is one you can add to just about any dish – chicken, fish, meat, and veggies!

4 TB paprika

3 TB Kosher or Sea Salt

2 TB ground red pepper flakes

2 TB onion powder

2 TB garlic powder

2 TB dark chili powder

2 TB cumin

2 TB freshly ground black pepper

1 TB cayenne pepper

1 tsp thyme

Place all your spice ingredients in a small jar with a tight fitting lid. Put on some music, and shake that jar for about 30 seconds while you’re dancing! Then, use a funnel, and fill up those empty spice bottles in your cupboard with your “GoTo” Soul Seasoning. Now you can even shake up those vegan dishes with a touch of flavor and soul!

Homemade Do-It-Yourself “Old Bay” Style Spice Blend

Hmmm. Can’t you almost spell the spices and aromas from way down in New Orleans! Whip up an at-the-ready blend and jazz-up your seafood anytime – boiled, fried, gumbo  – what and however you wish with our DIY Homemade Seafood Spice Blend!

1 TB Ground Bay Leaves

2 TSP Celery Salt

2 TSP Ground Black {epper

2 TSP Paprika

1 TSP Ground Celery Seeds

1 TSP Ground White Pepper

1 TSP Dry Mustard

1 TSP Ground Ginger

1 TSP Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

½ TSP Ground Nutmeg

½ TSP Cinnamon

1/2 TSP Ground Cloves

½ TSP Ground Cardamom

½ TSP Ground Allspice

“All Fired-UP” Chili and Taco Seasoning Spice Blend

Create your own “house blend” of seasonings for that next chili bowl and taco night! If you want to put in more fire – go ahead! If you want to tame it down – do it! The key is – make up your own ahead of time, then it’ll be there – just like you like it, every time!

1 TB Chili Powder

1 TBP Red Pepper Flakes, or to taste

1 1/2 TSP Paprika

1 TSP Onion Powder

1 ½  TSP Sea Salt

1/2 TSP Garlic Powder

1 1/2 TSP Cumin

1/2 TSP Oregano

1 ½ TSP Black Pepper, or to your diet/taste

½ TSP Cayenne Pepper, or to your diet/taste

Mix together all ingredients.  Store in an airtight container until ready to use. Try about 2 tablespoons per 1 pound of meat for tacos. Use to taste for chili.
